Technical paper by Fras-le at EuroBrake

Fras-le will be participating in EuroBrake 2018, which will take place on May 22 to 24, in The Hague, in Holland, to share the knowledge of experts dedicated to automotive brake technology. The technical paper by engineer Taíse Gotardo entitled “Assessment of wear on brake discs with coatings applied by hypersonic thermal aspersion” will be representing Fras-le at the event.  
 
The study assesses different brake disc coating materials that were applied by hypersonic thermal aspersion, a technique where microscopic particles of the coating material are heated to a temperature higher  than melting point and hurled at very high speeds against the surface of the brake disc, in order to verify their effectiveness in reducing wear. Dynamometer tests demonstrated that the coating with tungsten carbide proved to be the most promising, with practically zero disc wear.
 
In this edition, EuroBrake will feature 120 technical presentations and more than 100 international exhibitors.
