Florescer promotes the holistic development of children and adolescents

With the mission of preparing children and adolescents to exercise citizenship, for a better quality of life and a promising future, Florescer is one of the social responsibility programs of the Instituto Elisabetha Randon.

Florescer is made up of a socio-educational service center that offers pedagogical, cultural, and sporting activities that promote the holistic development of the human being, including the intellectual, physical, emotional, and cultural dimensions.

Florescer is an ally of the family and the school in the development of citizens that are more prepared for life. The program performs preventative activities that deal with social risks: The students from 6 to 14 years of age, selected by a specific criteria of social vulnerability, can go to Florescer for free, during the opposite shift of regular school in order to promote their holistic development and social inclusion, also receiving transportation and meals. Besides the activities developed for the students, Florescer provides lectures for the parents and teachers of the serviced communities in order to offer information and guidance about issues related to childhood and adolescence. The project already has 30 thousand beneficiaries with significant results in the improvement of the quality of life for these families.

    Florescer services 400 students in two nuclei, located in the facilities of Randon Companies in the city of Caxias do Sul (RS). Also, there are consolidated franchises in Ribeirão Preto (SP), Curitiba (PR), Bento Gonçalves (RS), Maringá (PR), Vacaria (RS), Farroupilha (RS) and in Balneário Piçarras (SC). The Programa Florescer methodology is made available by the Instituto Elisabetha Randon as a model for other institutions that want to adopt an initiative that provides the chance to have a promising future for children and adolescents. Currently, the Programa Florescer services 1,115 students in all of Brazil.

    Raul Randon, the founder of Randon and the creator of Florescer has said that it is not hard to manage a program like this because the benefits outweigh any difficulties. "The greatest challenge is making the decision. You just need to do it,” he says in regards to other companies that could follow a similar path. After completing the Programa Florescer, the students have an opportunity to begin the Programa Qualificar (Skills Program), which seeks to prepare youth for better placement in the labor market through technical and humanistic development, promoting social inclusion. Since 2008, the students if the Programa Qualificar are considered young apprentices at the Randon Companies.
